Crowded, gapped or protruding teeth are more than a cosmetic concern — they trap plaque, wear unevenly and can strain the jaw joint. Orthodontic treatment corrects the bite as well as the appearance. The question most patients in Perumbakkam ask us is simply which appliance to choose.
Fixed braces
Brackets are bonded to each tooth and connected by a wire that is adjusted every four to six weeks. Metal brackets are the most economical and handle the widest range of cases; ceramic brackets are tooth-coloured and far less noticeable.

Clear aligners

- Suited to mild and moderate cases; severe bites may still need braces
How long does treatment take?
Mild alignment can finish in 6–9 months with either option. Comprehensive cases usually run 18–24 months. Aligner cases that are worn inconsistently take longer, which is the single biggest variable we see.
Retainers: the part people forget
Teeth have a memory and will drift back without retention. After the appliance comes off, a fixed wire behind the front teeth or a removable night retainer keeps the result stable. Plan for retainers as part of the treatment, not an optional extra.
